米陸軍航空隊が1940年代前半に採用した飛行士用のタイプC-2。セーターであるにも関わらず、当時『ベスト』として分類され、スペックシートには『ウールニット製の袖付き』と記されていた。軍は気温の変化に対応するため、フライトジャケットのインナーとして重ね着することが出来、暖かさが保てる万能なセーターを開発した。C-2はフライトジャケットA-2のインナーとして着用することを前提としていたため、体に張り付くようなシルエットを持っている。

Type C-2 was issued to aviators by the United States Army Ai r Corps in early 1940s. Despite being a sweater, it was classified as a “vest” at the time, and descried as a sweater type vest that had raglan sleeves on the specification sheet. Since the C-2 was designed to wear inside the A-2 f light jacket, it was made to fit snugly to pilot’s body.
